BAAAASTAN!

This weekend we headed to boston to meet up with chris and jason to hang out for a day or two! We ended up going to the bruins game, which was my first hockey game. We had a great time and the city itself is amazing!!! Its so cute and everyone walks around everywhere they go! We went to newbury st.. which the boys probably didnt love but i HAD to go! On sunday we went to quincy market which was great.. we ate at CHEERS! Over all it was a really good time in a really good city. I would love to go back one day and spend more time there!

Fall Foliage

I tried to get some pics for you guys of the wonderful fall trees and bushes and stuff! It is so pretty! I didnt know that it happened so fast though.... it turns and within a day or two all the leaves fall off! We will have to try to take a ride to get some better shots.. but you can atleast get a taste of it with these two pics!

There's no place like HOME!

WE ARE BACK!!!!! YAY! i can not lie though, part of me wishes we were still enjoying the nice cool weather in maine! They had so much that we didnt get to see but it is nice to be home! Time to start working on the house now! I will try to post some pics of the house in progress!

Lobster Time!

We did it!! We finally had lobster!!! Todd got the lobster, clam and mussel basket... or atleast i think thats what it was! I got the lobster pie, which was great!! We didnt know how to eat lobster though, so todd decided to do it like a crawfish and pinch the tail! Well i dont think there could be a better way to do it!! Lobster cajun Style!

Another day.. Another Lighthouse

Sunday morning was a little different this weekend. Our hotel fire alarm went off at about 8 in the morning, waking everyone up! The whole hotel had to go outside and stand on the other side of the yard. No worries though, because it was just a "default" alarm that went off.. not the wake up call we were hoping for!! We decided to take advantage of waking up early and go try a local diner for breakfast. The wait was annoying but it was worth it. After we decided to go see this other lighthouse, Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse. It is a small lighthouse that you have to walk on these rocks that are thrown in the water as a walk way.. a little scary at first! It was very nice though!

Sunny Saturday

Saturday we finally had some sunny weather! We took a ride out to the coast line to see Fort Williams. It was a GREAT day.. the weather was amazing. Check out the pics!

We had whoopie last night...

Wicked Whoopie Pies that is! Get your minds out of the gutter!!! Before we came up to maine tre and sam told us about these wonderful little treats. So when we finally got up here i knew i needed to try atleast one of them! Well, lets just say these things are NOT hard to find! What Hubigs pies are to new orleans, Whoopie pies are to portland! They are everywhere you go, at the gas stations, at the groceries, they are even on the menu at local restaurants! We finally bought one and had a taste.. they are GREAT! I will have to try to limit myself to just one a week! Thanks Tre and Sam!

I decided to put some pictures up of where we are living at for the next few weeks! I am kinda liking the idea of a small area. I can see the tv from the kitchen, the bed, the desk, and the bathroom... pretty good right!

Seeing the light..

Yesterday we got up kind of early and went and found the best little breakfast hole in the wall!! Uncle Andys!! After breakfast we decided to just take a ride around since the weather was nasty. We ended up on the road heading towards The Portland Headlight Lighthouse so we decided to turn in and go see it! As soon as you turn onto the road to go to the lighthouse you can smell the ocean. This is how me and todd always know if we are close to the ocean.. you can ALWAYS smell it as soon as its near.
Once we go the the lighthouse it was still raining.. lighty though. So, we decided to get out and do the walk around tour. Down below are some pictures of our walk and the lighthouse.. enjoy! We miss and love you all!

The Dark Knight

We went to the movies today to see The Dark Knight.. the movie was amazing!!!!!! Everyone should go out and see it! As for the movie theatre itself, well.... it was grand! They have comfy leather seats and assigned seating for everyone... something we should look into for back home!

Lifes a Beach..

Yesterday when todd got off of work we decided to take a ride to see the ocean.. this would be the first time todd would put his toes in it! So i got my handy map out and figured out how to get there. In no time we were there at Old Orchard Beach. This is one of the cutest places i have ever seen. They have shops all down the street and an amusement park at the end of the street. We parked and walked to the beach. They had a lot of people swimming, but these people must be use to extremely cold weather because when we put our feet in it was as cold as ice water! We then decided to just go have some dinner and watch everyone else swim! We found a bar/pub deal on the end of the pier so decided to eat there. Food was good... we didnt get any seafood though. However, I did almost get attacked by a seagul for my damn french fries!!! I screamed like a girl and people laughed and todd made it leave! See Below for the pictures!

NEW ORLEANS TO MAINE

So here is our first blog...

Lets start this off with talking about our flight.. We ended up having to sit in the last row (it was the only two seats together left), being the good husband todd can be (most of the time) he let me sit by the window. Welllll... Todd had a 300 pound girl sit next to him who practically sat on top of his leg the whole time. The plane was kinda hot so the girl stole todds air vent!! Once we were off of that flight todd was a happier person.. the second flight went well. Once we got to Boston we went and picked up our "oh so cool" car.. the stang! vroom vroom! Once we got out of the airport we got lost for about an hour in a little city somewhere around boston. We finally found our way back to the highway and headed towards maine. On the way we figured out some things that people in this area like to do... canoe and kayaking. 70% of the cars had them on their roofs. Maybe one day we will go try it out. Once we got to maine we decided to go eat some local seafood or something, so we went to "IHOP"! I guess im turning into my dad now. Ihop does have a happy hour though, which is pretty cool. Only thing is they have a 3 drink max! That's when you know you are not in New Orleans anymore!
